Lisa's Giant iPhone

On October 30th, iPhone officially launched in China with the China Unicom network. Most of my friends have been using a the unofficial grey phone for about two years so it’s not really that new in China. My friends bought theirs in the US or HK but you can also buy it Beijing if you know where to go.

The official phones start at around RMB 4,999 and go up to RMB 6,999 for the top of the range 3GS 32 GB version. The phones are way more expensive than what they cost in the US and don’t even have Wi-FI, so I would rather wait till next year for the new batch to arrive. The Apple store was pretty busy with a lot of interest in the phone.

But considering the price and lack of WI-FI , I wonder how successful it will really be. They had these cool extra large iPhones displays in the window, so Lisa pretended she was playing on the phone.
